Tony Chocolonely
AI Wrapper
We used new emerging AI technology to create a Wrapper Generator for Tony Chocolonely. This project invites participants to design personalized chocolate bar wrappers, using artificial intelligence to seamlessly transform simple inputs into creative, visually striking outputs.
Built on the idea of generating leads, the concept merges Tony’s previous approach at simple but effective designs of custom wrappers with people own ideas and brand’s elements. The goal is to encourage clients to contact Tony's for a more targeted partnership.
To ensure a seamless integration with Tony’s brand identity, we collaborated closely with their design team.
We developed various visual styles, which would be appealing to the general audience. A key challenge was creating clear, descriptive names for these styles, which would allow users to effectively clarify their visual preferences.
Additionally, we worked hand-in-hand with the IT team to align the new version of Tony’s poster generated into their website.
The first version was for OMR Conference, where Tony’s sought to engage marketing and design professionals through an inventive and interactive experience: The AI tool then processes these inputs and generates a unique wrapper design, which is displayed as a 3D-rendered chocolate bar.
After the conference installation, we moved the tool online, first for internal testing and then for public use. We kept improving it, refining UX/UI and adding features like logo placement and making it more user-friendly.
Finally, version 2.5 had to take into account all online public factors such as consent forms, data tracking and collection, and making it mobile/any format friendly.
Participants were guided through a series of simple prompts, selecting elements like visual styles and colors inspired by their own preferences or brands. The AI tool then generated unique, eye-catching chocolate wrapper designs in real time. Those designs functioned as an inspiration for collaborating with Tony on an actual wrap posters.
The project hopes for opening up conversations about the use of AI and its limitations, especially as it relates to how we view and create reality in the digital age.
