About Vera and Luc:
Introducing Vera van der Burg and Luc Nagel, two creatives at the forefront of technology and Artificial Intelligence. Their shared passion lies in exploring the vast potential of AI in academic research and commercial work. With a keen eye for design and visual storytelling, they continuously explore new possibilities, uncovering new creative avenues in this ever-evolving digital world.
Vera van der Burg is a designer and researcher, currently working at Technical University Delft as a PhD student. Her research and design is rooted in creative AI practices and explorations on how AI can be used as a tool for self-reflection.
Luc Nagel is a creative technologist and digital designer here at UNI_VERSE. He is specialized in the contemporary production of moving images and sounds for clients operating in fashion, music, arts and technology.
Talk details:
This presentation introduces critical perspectives on AI within creative practices, alongside exploration of alternative incorporation methods through select projects done by Vera. Delving beyond mere output generation, the discussion will include AI's potential as a reflective tool. Additionally, nuanced approaches to AI tools, prioritizing responsibility and compatibility with existing creative practices, will be explored. Furthermore, Luc will demonstrate the integration of AI within studio projects, showcasing text-based AI models to generative AI and their incorporation into creative (3D) designs.
